After a natural exposure that provides long lasting natural immunity, the secretory mucosal IgA will not be affected and will continue to provide protection against the wild measles strain getting through the epithelial barrier. However, since the injected measles virus is a different strain than the wild strain, cellular immunity (specifically tissue resident cytotoxic t-cells) can potentially get reprogrammed to react to the injected strain vs the wild strain. This is called "immune distraction" and could potentially allow a symptomatic measles infection to occur if the secretory IgA fails.
