Many independent farms, including smallholdings / homesteads, in all areas of the U.S. raise meats without the use of synthetic modified mRNA products. Some of these farms use no herbicides, drugs, synthetic chemicals, or artificial hormones.
Look for them at farmers markets, online, or in the Farm & Garden section of Craigslist.
Keep in mind that small operations rarely get government subsidies from the Farm Bill, which are designed mostly to make grains, soy, oils, and sugar artificially cheap- the stuff junk food is made from, at great profit.
Nor do independent family operated farms sell high markup items that supermarkets make most of their money from- like personal care products, health products, etc.
yes, I recently read that, too. I almost completely stopped eating red meat with the mad cow disease years ago. I stopped eating chicken 2 years ago, when my dog developed allergy to it. I can hardly give my animals vegetarian food! the dog will eat some, but the cats, nah. They want meat. And so do I LOL. Thinking again of starting some chickens myself, but probably won't have the heart to kill them.

You have inadvertently stumbled on why, for example, Pennsylvania was so punitive to an Amish farmer who sold raw milk. In that case, after many months of government harassment, a large number of complaining citizens agitated on his behalf, and, if my info is correct, he was not jailed or fined. I don't know why Americans complained about George III -- all he wanted was a tax on tea.
