Ummm, why not just encourage more cremation? They don't need to go to this disgusting practice... I mean what are they going to do just pile a bunch of dead people on top of each other into a 20 ft deep ditch and cover them all up together to save space? Just cremate people and give them a beautiful urn with their loved ones ashes in it... Then they can go spread the ashes wherever they'd like, the ocean, a mountainside, their backyard... Whatever.
We are, as society, losing all respect for the sanctity of human life. A society that does not respect all life, especially human, respect the elderly or respect the dead has no respect for itself. Such a society is destined for the history of short lived civilization.

this sounds quite macabre - I thought at first it was a halloween joke, but it seems to be true, and to my horror, I see Georgia allows it, too. I wonder if it is still allowed to be buried in your yard, like years ago. Even being cremated sounds like a curse to me.
I definitely favour *more* some of the earlier methods which were employed here, where we live and die, in earlier millennia ~ e.g., several millennia ago ~ by those born on this continent and living out their entire lives on this continent, in the matter of decisions concerning the bodies of loved ones following their deaths, but in my view the current and past practices of chemical preservation are at least as 'macabre' and 'eerie' as the ones described herein of current and future ones.
