"Google harmed the candidates–regardless of party–who threatened its left-wing candidate of choice," the study reads.

The study highlights a pattern of behavior by the tech giant, suggesting a concerted effort to sway election outcomes in favor of left-wing candidates while targeting their opponents for censorship.
According to the executive summary of the study, “Google harmed the candidates–regardless of party–who threatened its left-wing candidate of choice.”
The report accuses Google of using its “great strength and resources and reach” to advance its own leftist values.
The study outlines instances dating back to the 2008 presidential election, where Google allegedly favored liberal candidates over their conservative counterparts.
In 2016, the summary claims, “Google pushed Clinton,” manipulating its algorithm to exclude damaging autofill results for then-candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.
Additionally, the study asserts that Google worked with partners to mobilize pro-Clinton voters, particularly among Latino communities.
Moreover, the executive summary suggests that Google’s interference has intensified in recent years.
In the 2020 election, the report alleges, “Google targeted Tulsi Gabbard for censorship” and suppressed news critical of Joe Biden.
It claims that Google’s actions shifted the election results away from Republicans by at least 6 million votes.

The MRC study also points to Google’s control over information dissemination as a significant factor in election interference.
It states that “Google News consistently favors left-leaning media outlets,” influencing public perception and voter behavior.
The summary highlights data from AllSides indicating a significant disparity in the representation of left and right-leaning media on Google News.
In light of these findings, the study offers several recommendations.
It suggests that “Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) should direct relevant committees and committee chairmen to investigate Google” for potential violations of constitutional rights and election laws.
Additionally, the report urges state legislatures to address Google’s status as a common carrier and prevent viewpoint discrimination by Big Tech companies.
The study concludes by advising Americans to reconsider their use of Google products, particularly Google Search, in favor of alternative platforms.
It asserts that these alternatives produce “better, less biased results” and offer a means to combat Google’s perceived influence over elections.
Overall, the MRC study paints a concerning picture of Google’s impact on U.S. elections, alleging widespread interference in favor of left-wing candidates and a systemic bias in information dissemination.
However, it remains to be seen how these allegations will be addressed by lawmakers and the public.
