Combination Eye Movement Impairment/Inflammation Following 6th COVID Vaccination: 'Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports'
"The course of the present patient suggested that the combination of signs might be vaccine-associated," the case report authors write.
A case report published this month in the Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports confirms the simultaneous development of ‘abducens nerve palsy’ and ‘optic neuritis’ on the same side, presented in a recently COVID-vaccinated 82-year-old man.

Abducens Nerve Palsy is a neurological condition characterized by weakness or paralysis of the lateral rectus muscle, resulting in impaired outward movement of the affected eye.
Optic neuritis is the inflammation of the optic nerve, often causing pain and visual disturbances.
The elderly gentleman developed the combination of abducens nerve palsy and optic neuritis on the left side only 2 months after the sixth inoculation of COVID-19 mRNA jab.
“Two months prior to the onset of symptoms, he had undergone the sixth inoculation of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Moderna),” according to the study.
He had received five prior vaccinations: the first and second inoculation being the Pfizer-BioNTech jab, the third being Moderna, and the fourth and fifth also being Pfizer, “with each interval of about 6 months.”
The authors therefore confirm that the man’s ailments “might be vaccine-associated” and could signify a “vaccine-related complication.”
They suggest that his simultaneous nerve palsy and optic neuritis occurring on the same side “might be related to the preceding vaccination for COVID-19 2 months previously.”
They point to the “vast numbers of people worldwide have undergone [COVID] vaccination more than once,” and that because of this, “the different kinds of adverse events related to the COVID-19 vaccinations have been accumulated in the literature.”
“Abducens nerve palsy has been indeed reported as sequel to the vaccinations for COVID-19.8-11 and also in association with the infection of COVID-19,” they affirm.
